BioFloor®

Modular Biofiltration
Support System

In our continuing effort to create products of environmental importance, Hallsten developed and patented a modular biofiltration support system for the construction of large biofilters. These biofilters are used in the elimination of volatile organic compounds and odors from waste treatment processes.

Applications

Biological air pollution control has been used on an increasing basis in recent years to cleanse noxious and odorous gases, such as those emanating from sewage treatment plants.

In addition to sewage treatment plants, biofilters are useful for treating the effluent gases from many other processes, such as farming, rendering plants, coffee roasters, foundries, and composting facilities.

The Biofloor® Advantage

The BioFloor® modules are compression formed, in a patented process, of 100% post-industrial recycled polymers and can be quickly assembled to form a biofilter cell of any length and width.

Structurally, the handclasp interlock between the individual floor modules and threaded compression screws provide for the support of wheel loads up to 16,000 pounds per square foot. This allows for the use of heavy equipment to service the media beds. The system assures the even distribution of air emitted through the floor with zero head loss.

How it Works
